Aldar Dashiev – A Classically Trained Singer Bridging Baroque and Tradition
Aldar Dashiev is a classically trained countertenor specializing in baroque and traditional music. Originally from Buryatia, his artistic journey weaves together diverse cultures and styles, blending the rich heritage of his roots with the refined expression of European classical music.
Musical Education
Aldar began his musical path in Buryatia and Mongolia, where he studied choral conducting and mastered the art of Mongolian long song (urtyn duu). He later moved to Italy, where he studied opera and baroque singing at the conservatories of Trieste and Venice under the guidance of renowned teachers such as Rita Susovsky, Cinzia De Mola, Cristina Miatello, and Luca Dordolo. In 2024, he graduated from the Venice Conservatory with a degree in baroque singing.
Professional Achievements
Aldar has performed at prestigious venues across Europe, including the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as part of the Baroque Bayreuth Festival. He also appeared in acclaimed productions of Antonio Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso in Ferrara and Modena, working with celebrated conductors such as Federico Maria Sardelli. His repertoire spans technically demanding and emotionally resonant works, from baroque arias to ancient traditional melodies.
In addition to his operatic performances, Aldar is deeply committed to cultural preservation and intercultural dialogue through music. He has participated in the Riddu Riđđu Festival of Indigenous Peoples in Norway three times — in 2010, 2022, and 2025 — where he represented Buryat culture through voice, traditional instruments, and heartfelt collaboration. His performances at Riddu Riđđu have been praised for their sincerity, rich vocal color, and the way they bring audiences together through shared musical experience.
He has also performed in projects such as Carta Canta in Venice and in concerts at historic theaters throughout Italy and Germany. His dedication to teaching and preserving traditional music complements his work on stage.
A Global Artist with Deep Roots
Now based in Berlin, Aldar continues to seek new artistic challenges while remaining firmly rooted in his heritage. He is passionate about building meaningful connections with audiences around the world through music that transcends borders and speaks to the soul.
